Three ways to take a Göreme sunrise.

The flight
Launch is at first light and the whole fleet lifts together, a hundred-odd envelopes drifting over Love Valley while the tuff turns pink underneath. The watching run

Every agency in Göreme sells the same three routes under the same three names, so the only questions worth asking are which valleys you get, how much of the day is spent in the minibus, and whether lunch and the entry tickets are in the price. Red is the short famous one, Green is the long one with the underground city, Blue is the quiet one.
The Red Tour

The Green Tour

Cappadocia kept a second city underneath the first one.
Derinkuyu drops eight levels below the fields; Kaymaklı spreads sideways instead. Both were cut as refuges, both stay cold in August, and both mean stooping through tunnels that were never built for a backpack. Take a jacket, leave the claustrophobia at the hotel, and pair one with a rock-cut church while you are down that end of the region.

The valleys are the attraction. The only real decision left is what you cross them on, and how early you are willing to get up to do it.
A day in the valleys costs what lunch costs. The balloon does not.
